Perry Mason
Erle Stanley Garder created the fictious lawyer after retiring from a career in Law in California. His writings became a radio program from 1943 to 1955. The TV series, which began in 1957, featured the Canadian actor Raymond Burr. Burr initially auditioned for the part of Hamilton Burger, but Gardner declared that he was the embodiment of Perry Mason and it was a done deal! Earle Stanley Gardner made an uncredited appearance as the Judge in the very last episode of the TV series. I have read 84 ESG Perry Mason novels and admire his work greatly!
